Our Leadership

U Hlaing Min Aung

Managing Director & Co-Founder

U Hlaing Min Aung’s expertise in operational scaling was forged during the company’s most difficult period. Starting in 2007, he worked alongside his brother in Magway, personally handling the logistics of a remote, three-man startup. This era was defined by limited resources and long hours, providing him with a deep, firsthand understanding of every facet of the business—from customer service to supply chain management.

His Vision Today: Using the grit developed during those early years, he now leads the Operational Expansion of the Shwe Mandalay Brand. He is responsible for managing the expanding number of branches nationwide, ensuring that the same quality and “Real Taste of Mandalay” found in the first 2009 branch is replicated across every new location, including the strategic Yangon expansion in 2025.

U Zaw Myo Aung

Senior Executive Director & Co-Founder

Before envisioning a diversified corporate group, U Zaw Myo Aung spent the years between 2007 and 2009 building a foundation from the ground up. Operating a small neighborhood liquor store near petroleum mining sites in the Magway Region, he managed the daily challenges of a lean, three-man operation. Those early years of manual labor and navigating a volatile industrial environment taught him the value of agility and the necessity of looking for the next opportunity.

His Vision Today: Having seen the business transform from a thatched-roof shop into a thriving tea house chain, he now focuses on Strategic Innovation and New Business Development. He guides the group into expanding new business territories, ensuring Shwe Mandalay evolves to meet modern consumer needs while maintaining its cultural roots.
